Carlos Ermocilla, MD
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad de Panama Facultad de Medicina in Panama City, Panama, he completed his residency in Family Practice at the State University of New York in Brooklyn in 2004.
Dr. Ermocilla exemplifies the distinguished qualities of a Family Medicine physician who is both a fierce advocate for his patients and a trusted colleague among his peers. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Ermocilla has dedicated his career to providing high-quality, family-centered care that transcends linguistic and cultural barriers. He recognizes that language is often one of the greatest obstacles to care, and he has made it his mission to ensure that Spanish-speaking patients receive not only comprehensive medical attention but also a compassionate and culturally sensitive healthcare experience. Over the years, he has worked to bridge the gap between patients and providers, empowering families through education, advocacy, and trust-building communication. Dr. Ermocilla is particularly passionate about addressing healthcare disparities in underserved Hispanic communities. He takes the time to listen, educate, and connect, championing better health outcomes and striving to create a more inclusive healthcare environment for all.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Ermocilla is a devoted husband and a loving father to two teenage boys. Despite the demands of his profession, he makes it a priority to spend quality time with his family, embracing every opportunity to share meaningful experiences together. He is an enthusiastic supporter of his sons’ pursuits—most notably their competitive travel ice hockey—and rarely misses a chance to cheer them on. Dr. Ermocilla is also an avid golfer, finding both relaxation and camaraderie on the greens. Golf offers him a much-needed outlet to decompress while staying active and engaged with friends and colleagues. In recent years, he has developed a deep passion for fishing, a hobby that allows him to unwind in nature and reflect outside the pressures of daily life. Whether casting a line at a local lake or exploring new fishing spots on weekend trips, these outdoor adventures have become cherished moments of connection with his family.
